Maison identique à la mienne, la maison de mes voisins avait la particularité
d'en être son miroir : tout y était inversé.
Si la cuisine, chez nous, était à droite, chez eux, elle était à gauche.
Et ainsi, inéluctablement, pour l'ensemble de la maison.
Alors, enfant, je pensais que ce devait être la même chose :
si j'avais une pensée, elle était forcément à l'inverse de la leur.
C'était facilement très compliqué ou extrêmement simple - selon le point de vue.

Identical to my own, my neighbors house had the particularity
of being its mirror image: everything was in reverse.
If the kitchen at home was on the right, at their house it was on the left.
And so on, ineluctably, for the rest of the house.
Thus, as a child, I thought everything else followed: if I had a thought, it was obviously the opposite of theirs.
This could easily be very complicated or extremely simple, according to your point of view.
